Job Description
Location: Johannesburg | Houghton
MSA Outsourcing Solutions is a South African based Company focused predominantly in staffing for USA based clients. We provide high caliber staff, filling various roles in a multitude of industries across the USA. Our turnaround time is expedient and everything is expected yesterday.
We are seeking a Level 3 IT Engineers with 8+ years of experience, to work hand-in-hand with our USA based clients, building and meeting their customer service goals and needs.
Please note that the role will be office-based in Houghton Estate Johannesburg, operating during USA EST hours (3pm-12am daylight savings dependent)
Main Tasks
- Network Setup and Configuration: Design, and configure network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Ensure network connectivity and performance by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues
- Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
- Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and promptly respond to incidents
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Network Administration: Manage and administer network servers, including domain controllers, DNS servers, DHCP servers, and file servers
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Perform regular data backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery
- Network Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor network performance, availability, and utilization using network monitoring tools
- Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize network performance by fine-tuning configurations
- Plan and implement network capacity upgrades as necessary to accommodate growing demands
- Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Respond to user-reported issues and provide timely resolution
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, and software problems
- Collaborate with other IT teams or vendors for advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory
- Prepare regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and system upgrades
- Document network policies, procedures, and best practices
- Network Upgrades and Projects: Plan, coordinate, and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions
- Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement cross-functional projects
- Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure network operations comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies
- Implement and enforce network access controls and data privacy measures
- Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network administration
